EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Red cell mass measurement in patients with clinically suspected diagnosis of polycythemia vera or essential thrombocythemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2012
The cut off for hemoglobin or hematocrit that indicates the need for an isotopic red cell mass study was investigated in 179 patients with a presumptive diagnosis of polycythemia vera or essential thrombocythemia.

Directional Measurements of the Daily Variation of Cosmic Ray Meson Intensity at l=73 °S. [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physics, 1957
Measurements are reported of the daily variations of meson intensity at Mawson, Antarctica (?=73 °S.), recorded by counter telescopes inclined at 45° to the vertical in each of north, east, south, and west directions. The results, together with those from a vertical telescope, are examined and found to be inconsistent with an assumed common origin of ...

Measurement of probabilities for vacancy transfer from the K to L shell of the elements 73⩽Z⩽92

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 1997
K- to L-shell vacancy transfer probabilities were measured for ten elements in the atomic range 73\ensuremath{\leqslant}Z\ensuremath{\leqslant}92. Those measuring L x-ray yields from targets excited by 59.5 and 122 keV incident photons, i.e., below and above the K edge of elements, were detected with a high-resolution Si(Li) detector.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Multidrug‐resistant Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in residential aged care facilities: An emerging threat

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen
Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a multidrug‐resistant (MDR), Gram‐negative bacterium intrinsically resistant to beta‐lactams, including last‐resort carbapenems. As an opportunistic pathogen, it can cause serious healthcare‐related infections.
