Mechanism and management of leaks arising after left atrial appendage closure (LAAC)
Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2022AbstractThis article reviews the latest available data in regard to the diagnosis, management, and intervention of both central and peri‐device leaks that arise after left atrial appendage closure (LAAC). The aim of this article is to have a better understanding of both addressing leaks arising after LAAC, and which interventions and closure methods ...

LAAC: A Location-Aware Access Control Protocol
2006 3rd Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems - Workshops, 2006With the proliferation of wireless communication technologies and mobile computing devices, research interest has grown for location-aware systems and services. We propose LAAC, a novel Location-Aware Access Control protocol based on a coarsely defined location area that is enclosed by overlapping areas of multiple access points.

Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC)
2017Atrial fibrillation (AF) affects approximately 15 million patients worldwide and carries an increased risk of stroke. It is estimated that 90 % of stroke comes from embolism of left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombus in non-valvular AF. The concept of mechanical occlusion of the LAA to reduce stroke risk has been refined over the years since it was first ...

Channel access: A software bus for the LAACS
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1990Abstract The host processor for a code running within a distributed process control system is often predetermined by constraints built into the software architecture of the control system. Input/output (I/O) channels directly connected to the host processors are usually easier to access in software than channels on remote processors.

Training Physics Students for Space Careers: Introduction to the LaACES CajunSat Program
41st AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2005In January 2004, the President set goals for our space program for the 21st century. This renewed sense of direction means that a whole new generation of scientists and engineers will be needed to support space-based science and technology. Declining enrollments in science, mathematics, and space related engineering programs are well documented in the ...

Displacement of occluder after left atrial appendage closure(LAAC):A case report
The efficacy and safety of left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) in preventing non valvular atrial fibrillation stroke have been confirmed by multiple randomized controlled and registered studies, and have been recommended by several guidelines for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation at high risk of stroke. We reported an 80-year- oldXiaobo Mao, Yan Lin

Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) in cancer patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Journal of Clinical Oncologye24010 Background: Cancer increases the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF), particularly in patients over 65 or those with pre-existing cardiovascular disease. Patients with active cancer are at a higher risk of arterial and venous thrombosis.

Incentivos e benefícios fiscais nas IPSS: caso de estudo LAAC
2017Currently, public aid is extremely selective and is not capable of responding to all of the requests from social institutions. Over the last few years, state subsidies to the Non-profit Sector (NPS) have decreased considerably, putting into jeopardy the sustainability of this sector, which has important objectives in social protection.
