Flow injection analysis in lab-on-paper format

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2018
Abstract Analytical applications of paper-based microfluidic devices, receive much attention and have been heavily investigated in the last few years. Liquid movement in the body of the paper brings the idea of paper-based flow injection analysis (FIA) developed according to lab-on-paper (LOP) concept.

Eco-friendly electrochemical lab-on-paper for heavy metal detection

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2015
A disposable electrochemical lateral flow paper-based sensing device for heavy metal detection is proposed. The quantification of lead and cadmium in aqueous samples is demonstrated in a range from 10 to 100 ppb with a limit of detection of 7 and 11 ppb respectively. Moreover, the platform itself, which is made of paper, served as a sample pretreatment

Lab-on-paper: fusion with foil and inkjet printing

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
In this paper, we demonstrate a combination of foil and InkJet printed structures in Lab-on-Paper device. Such a device can be used to analyze a concentration of salt in water (or any other substance) by measuring the impedance of the analyte. Lab-on-Paper can perform an analysis on a microscopic volume of substances.

Lab-on-paper-based devices using chemiluminescence and electrogenerated chemiluminescence detection

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2014
As an analytical support, paper, being low cost, highly abundant, of high porosity, disposable or biodegradable, and easy to use, store, transport, and print, has excellent chemical compatibility with many applications. Since the first microfluidic paper-based analytical device (μ-PAD or lab-on-paper) was proposed, the paper-based assay has never ...

Smart image recognition for medical application of lab-on-paper

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
In this paper, we demonstrate an automatic image analysis for Micro Total Analysis Systems (μTAS) or Lab-on-Paper (LoP). By placing fiducial markers on μTAS, application can crop image and remove bending distortions, also it can perform colorimetric analysis.

Modular design of paper based switches for autonomous lab-on paper micro devices

Biomedical Microdevices, 2020
This paper presents a new approach towards the design of paper based autonomous microfluidic devices. Autonomy in the device operation is achieved through the incorporation of mechanically actuated microfluidic switches that are versatile in their design and may be configured to be simple time triggered ON or OFF switches or more complex switches that ...

Lab on paper chip integrated with Si@GNRs for electroanalysis of diazepam

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2017
We describe herein the fabrication of an electrochemical microfluidic paper based device (EμPAD) for the detection of diazepam, a sedative, anxiety-relieving and muscle-relaxing drug. To achieve it, silica coated gold nanorods (Si@GNRs) were synthesized and drop casted on an electrochemical microfluidic paper based device (EμPAD) for the detection of ...

Double-enzyme active MnO2@BSA mediated lab-on-paper dual-modality aptasensor for di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2023
Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), as an environmental endocrine disruptor, has adverse effects on eco-environments and health. Thus, it is crucial to highly sensitive on-site detect DEHP. Herein, a double-enzyme active MnO2@BSA mediated dual-modality photoelectrochemical (PEC)/colorimetric aptasensing platform with the cascaded sensitization structures

Technology of Stearine Transfer Using Laser-Heating for Lab-On-Paper Development

2018 XV International Scientific Conference on Optoelectronic and Electronic Sensors (COE), 2018
In this article, we demonstrate a manufacture of the lab-on-paper device. The paper presents a technology of laser thermal transfer of stearine, into a porous paper often used in chemistry. Such a rapid, one-step technology was developed to obtain a paper-based analytical device with using only paper, stearine disc and CO2 laser plotter.
