Automatic Measurement of Postural Abnormalities With a Pose Estimation Algorithm in Parkinson’s Disease [PDF]
Objective This study aims to develop an automated and objective tool to evaluate postural abnormalities in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. Methods We applied a deep learning-based pose-estimation algorithm to lateral photos of prospectively enrolled ...

If you cannot agree, move on! On labels and non-nominative subjects
This paper examines the predictions of Chomsky’s (2013; 2015) Labeling Algorithm for structures with non-nominative, non-agreeing elements in what looks like a subject position: since such non-nominative subjects do not agree with the verb, the resulting

Learning Combinatorial Node Labeling Algorithms
We present a novel neural architecture to solve graph optimization problems where the solution consists of arbitrary node labels, allowing us to solve hard problems like graph coloring. We train our model using reinforcement learning, specifically policy gradients, which gives us both a greedy and a probabilistic policy.

A general cartographic labeling algorithm [PDF]
Some apparently powerful algorithms for automatic label placement on maps use heuristics that capture considerable cartographic expertise but are hampered by provably inefficient methods of search and optimization. On the other hand, no approach to label

Optimizing map labeling of point features based on an onion peeling approach
Map labeling of point features is the problem of placing text labels to corresponding point features on a map in a way that minimizes overlaps while satisfying basic rules for the quality.

Semi-Supervised Anomaly Detection Algorithm Using Probabilistic Labeling (SAD-PL)
To detect abnormal data via semi-supervised learning, unlabeled data are generally assumed to be normal data. This assumption, however, causes inevitable performance degradation when a small fraction of abnormal data is included in the unlabeled dataset.

Rapid algorithm for identifying backbones in the two-dimensional percolation model
We present a rapid algorithm for identifying the current-carrying backbone in the percolation model. It applies to general two-dimensional graphs with open boundary conditions.
