Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Chromosome-Level Genome Assembly of Red Sea Bream (Pagrus major) Reveals Integration of Heterospecific Sperm-Derived Genetic Material in Artificial Gynogenesis

open access: yesBiomolecules
Artificially induced gynogenesis, a technique that utilizes UV-irradiated sperm to activate eggs while excluding paternal genetic contribution, has been instrumental in the genetic improvement of aquaculture species.

Modification and updating of the Manned Activity Scheduling System (MASS) for shuttle and shuttle payloads analysis. Volume 2: Space shuttle sortie payload analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Space shuttle operations include a significant number of launches with a sortie laboratory serving as a facility for manned experimentation in space. Planning a program of space experiments for a facility of this type requires that both the composition ...

Laboratory Experiences with Griseofulvin

open access: yesArchives of Dermatology, 1960
Sensitivity tests with griseofulvin were generally speaking in agreement with published data, 1 but a variation was introduced in this laboratory by testing the drug simultaneously with penicillinase in order to establish whether it would be inactivated by this enzyme.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Synchronously Mature Intersex Japanese Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus): A Rare Case

open access: yesAnimals
Japanese flounder is usually gonochoristic, with gonads that are either testes or ovaries. Here, we report an unusual case of hermaphroditism in Japanese flounder captured from the Bohai Sea.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Badania eksperymentalne w zakresie semantyki jzyka naturalnego. Przyczynek do dyskusji nad realnoci psychologiczn hipotez lingwistycznych

open access: yesPostscriptum Polonistyczne, 2020
The article presents the results of laboratory experiments on several linguistic hypotheses. The experiments were checked for their epistemological control of the psychological reality of the world description that they offer.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
