Thermal Ecology of a Central Anatolian Population of Ophisops elegans: Insights From Field Measurements and Microclimate Modeling. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Thermal ecology and behavior of O. elegans were examined with related morphological and environmental parameters. Substrate and air temperatures are the main factors influencing thermal biology. Thermoregulatory efficiency values indicate that O. elegans is an effective thermoregulator.

How Foraging Mode Sculpts Sensory Systems: Morphological Evidence From DiceCT and Histology in Sympatric Lizards. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
The relationship between foraging modes and sensory system morphology is critical for understanding the ecological and evolutionary adaptations of lizards. This study investigates the nasal olfactory system (NOS) and vomeronasal system (VNS) of four sympatric lizards from the Turpan Basin, China, which exhibit distinct foraging strategies.

Color Polymorphism is a Driver of Diversification in the Lizard Family Lacertidae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Color polymorphism-two or more heritable color phenotypes maintained within a single breeding population-is an extreme type of intraspecific diversity widespread across the tree of life.

Asymmetry in the common wall lizard Podarcis muralis under different levels of urbanization: The effect of trait and FA index selection [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2019
The use of fluctuating asymmetry (FA) as a measure of developmental instability and its relationship to stress and fitness is highly controversial. We examined whether the selection of different FA indices and traits influences the results of FA analysis.

Complete Mitochondrial Genomes of Five Racerunners (Lacertidae: Eremias) and Comparison with Other Lacertids: Insights into the Structure and Evolution of the Control Region. [PDF]

open access: yesGenes (Basel), 2022
Comparative studies on mitochondrial genomes (mitogenomes) as well as the structure and evolution of the mitochondrial control region are few in the Lacertidae family. Here, the complete mitogenomes of five individuals of Eremias scripta (2 individuals),
