, 2017 본 연구는 기존의 옻칠 목기가 가진 전통적 디자인을 개선하여 현대인의 생활에 어울리는 공예품으로 개발하는데 있어, 옻칠 공예를 계승·발전시킬 수 있는 현대적 디자인 연구와 이에 부합하는 현대적 제작 방법의 제시를 목적으로 하고 있다. 옻칠을 한 목기(木器)는 오랜 전통을 가진 공예품의 하나로서, 우리나라에서는 기원전 3세기에 만들어진 유물의 출토를 통해 긴 역사를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있다.
