Archimedes Force on Casimir Apparatus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We address a problem of Casimir apparatus in dense medium and weak gravitational field. The falling of the apparatus has to be governed by the equivalence principle, with proper account for contributions to the weight of the apparatus from its material part and from distorted quantum fields.

Role of meibum and tear phospholipids in the evaporative water loss associated with dry eye. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
It is generally believed that the tear film lipid surface film inhibits the rate of evaporation (Revap) of the underlying tear aqueous. It is also generally believed that changes in the composition of the tear film lipid layer is responsible for an ...

Circular RNAs in human diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 5, Issue 9, September 2024.
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play significant roles in various human diseases, including respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, renal diseases, and cancer. This review highlights their biogenesis, pathogenic potential, and potential applications as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Abstract Circular RNAs (circRNAs)

Fundamental bounds on quantum measurements with a mixed apparatus [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2000
We consider the apparatus in a quantum measurement process to be in a mixed state. We propose a simple upper bound on the probability of correctly distinguishing any number of mixed states. We use this to derive fundamental bounds on the efficiency of a measurement in terms of the temperature of the apparatus.
