Designing Virtual Soundscapes for Alzheimer's Disease Care [PDF]

open access: yes14th International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research, Oct 2019, Marseille, France, 2019
Sound environment is a prime source of conscious and unconscious information which allows listeners to place themselves, to communicate, to feel, to remember. The author describes the process of designing a new audio interactive apparatus for Alzheimer's care, in the context of an active multidisciplinary research project led by the author in ...

Lymph Node Evolution in Eyelid and Orbit Squamous Cell Carcinomas

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 134, Issue 12, Page 4956-4963, December 2024.
This article summarizes our findings regarding lymph node evolution inside the parotid gland and submental and submanidbular nodes. We recommend to perform systematically an imaging setup and to perform an extensive neck dissection involving IA (submental areas) et IB (submandibular areas) areas when facing a lymph node evolution.

A Parametric Perceptual Deficit Modeling and Diagnostics Framework for Retina Damage using Mixed Reality [PDF]

open access: yesLNSC. 11845, pp. 1-12 (2019), 2019
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a progressive visual impairment affecting millions of individuals. Since there is no current treatment for the disease, the only means of improving the lives of individuals suffering from the disease is via assistive technologies. In this paper we propose a novel and effective methodology to accurately generate

Quantum measurement as driven phase transition: An exactly solvable model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A model of quantum measurement is proposed, which aims to describe statistical mechanical aspects of this phenomenon, starting from a purely Hamiltonian formulation. The macroscopic measurement apparatus is modeled as an ideal Bose gas, the order parameter of which, that is, the amplitude of the condensate, is the pointer variable.

Forecasting Disease Burden In Philippines: A Symbolic Regression Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Burden of disease measures the impact of living with illness and injury and dying prematurely and it is increasing worldwide leading cause of death both global and national. This paper aimed to propose an index of diseases and evaluate a mathematical model to describe the number of burden of disease by cause in the Philippines from 1990 - 2016. Through

Prevalence of Congenital Ocular Anomalies in 15 Countries of Europe: Results From the Medikeye Study

open access: yesBirth Defects Research, Volume 116, Issue 11, November 2024.
ABSTRACT Background Congenital ocular anomalies (COA) are among the most common causes of visual impairment in children in high‐income countries. The aim of the study is to describe the prevalence of the various COA recorded in European population‐based registries of CA (EUROCAT) participating in the EUROmediCAT consortium.
