A 48-year-old woman presented with a 5-month history of unilateral epiphora and progressive growth of a left-sided medial canthus mass. CT revealed a nonenhancing soft tissue mass of the left lacrimal sac with widening and erosion of the nasolacrimal canal. The tumor was resected and pathologically confirmed to be malignant melanoma.

Haemangiopericytoma of the lacrimal sac
Orbit, 2016Haemangiopericytomas (HPCs) are rare tumours which infrequently occur in the lacrimal sac. Only 8 cases of lacrimal sac HPC have previously been reported. The authors report 2 additional cases presenting clinically with epiphora and a mass. One case recurred 3 times during an 18-year period.

Sarcoidosis of the Lacrimal Sac
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1981Two women with acute dacryocystitis were found to have noncaseating granulomatous inflammation of the lacrimal sac and nasal mucosa. One patient had chronic uveitis and the other had skin lesions and generalized lymphadenopathy histologically compatible with sarcoidosis. The diagnosis was supported by elevation of serum levels of angiotensin-converting

Neurofibroma of the lacrimal sac
Orbit, 2002Neurofibroma is an extremely rare neural tumor of the lacrimal sac. We present a case of neurofibroma of the lacrimal sac in a 45-year-old lady. Based on the history of intermittent epiphora, presence of a mass in the lacrimal sac region, dacryocystogram suggestive of space occupying lesion within the lacrimal sac and computed tomographic image of a ...

This is a clinicopathologic study of 115 lacrimal sac neoplasms in adults (mean 52 years). The most common presenting signs and symptoms were epiphora (53%), recurrent dacryocystitis (38%), and/or lacrimal sac mass (36%). The tumors were divided into epithelial (82 cases) and nonepithelial (33 cases) neoplasms.

Orbit, 2012
A right orbit was exenterated from a male cadaver that was 85 years of age at death. It was microscopically shown for the first time that the lacrimal sac septum divided the lumen into two spaces. It consisted of fibrous tissue with a cavernous structure and was lined with stratified columnar epithelium similar to the lacrimal sac wall.

Sarcoidosis of the Lacrimal Sac
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1982To the Editor. —In an article in the JulyArchives(1981;99:1198-1201), Harris et al described two patients with sarcoidosis of the lacrimal sac and reported that there were only seven cases, including theirs, reported in the literature so far. Because they seem to have missed my study 1 concerning 281 patients with histologically verified sarcoidosis ...
