A 48-year-old woman presented with a 5-month history of unilateral epiphora and progressive growth of a left-sided medial canthus mass. CT revealed a nonenhancing soft tissue mass of the left lacrimal sac with widening and erosion of the nasolacrimal canal. The tumor was resected and pathologically confirmed to be malignant melanoma.

Hemangiopericytoma of the lacrimal sac is exceedingly rare. This case provided the first known computed tomographic image of a hemangiopericytoma of the lacrimal sac prior to surgical intervention.

Haemangiopericytoma of the lacrimal sac
Orbit, 2016Haemangiopericytomas (HPCs) are rare tumours which infrequently occur in the lacrimal sac. Only 8 cases of lacrimal sac HPC have previously been reported. The authors report 2 additional cases presenting clinically with epiphora and a mass. One case recurred 3 times during an 18-year period.
