An 84-year-old Caucasian lady was referred to the clinic with a 4-month history of a non-tender right medial canthal swelling (figure 1). This was associated with initial soreness and discharge only. There was no associated epiphora. Her systemic medications included aspirin and calcium supplements. Visual acuity was 6/7.5 in each eye.

A Lacrimal Gland Choristoma of the Lacrimal Sac
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2018Choristomatous lacrimal gland tissue has been detected in many different sites of the ocular adnexa, but has never before been convincingly described in the submucosa of the lacrimal sac. A 77-year-old woman with epiphora had a biopsy of the sac wall preformed during a dacryocystorhinostomy that contained such a lacrimal choristoma.

Sarcoidosis of the Lacrimal Sac
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1982To the Editor. —In an article in the JulyArchives(1981;99:1198-1201), Harris et al described two patients with sarcoidosis of the lacrimal sac and reported that there were only seven cases, including theirs, reported in the literature so far. Because they seem to have missed my study 1 concerning 281 patients with histologically verified sarcoidosis ...

Dacryocystectomy for Tumors of the Lacrimal Sac
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1977SUMMARY A high index of suspicion is very important in the early diagnosis and treatment of potentially lethal tumors of the lacrimal sac. The triad of a mass above the medial canthal tendon, chronic dacryocystitis which irrigates freely and bloody reflux on irrigation should alert the ophthalmologist of this potentially fatal situation ...

Nonepithelial Tumors of the Lacrimal Sac.
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1994Lacrimal sac tumors are rare and mostly of epithelial origin. We conducted a clinicopathologic study of 35 cases of nonepithelial tumors of the lacrimal sac. These tumors included 13 fibrous histiocytomas, one hemangiopericytoma, one lipoma, ten lymphoid lesions, eight malignant melanomas, one granulocytic sarcoma, and one neurofibroma.

Lacrimal diverticula are cystic outpouchings, mostly communicating with the lacrimal sac [1–5]. An abnormal cellular cord stem from the lacrimal sac region during embryogenesis could contribute to diverticula. Diverticula of the lacrimal sac can be congenital, inflammatory, or post-traumatic [1].

Malignant Melanoma of the Lacrimal Sac
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 1995Although malignancies of the lacrimal sac are rare, malignant melanoma of the lacrimal sac is an exceedingly rare occurrence. Patients with abnormalities of the nasolacrimal system may come to otolaryngologists for evaluation. Treatment of lacrimal sac malignancies will necessitate consultation of a head and neck surgeon. The triad of symptoms commonly
