Via in silico docking of pyrichalasin H on G‐ and F‐actin, the C21‐OAc moiety is identified as a modifiable site tolerated for actin binding. Fluorescent [11]cytochalasan probes from pyrichalasin H and epoxycytochalasin C are obtained by selective C21‐OAc hydrolysis and acylation.

Rigid and concave, 2,4-cis-substituted azetidine derivatives: A platform for asymmetric catalysis. [PDF]
A series of single enantiomer, 2,4-cis-disubstituted amino azetidines were synthesised and used as ligands for copper-catalysed Henry reactions of aldehydes with nitromethane. Optimisation of ligand substituents and the reaction conditions was conducted.

Background Antibiotics and anthelmintics are widely used in veterinary medicine to prevent, control, and treat infectious diseases. However, in resource‐limited settings, the widespread circulation of poor‐quality medicines and their inappropriate use have become major obstacles to delivering effective animal healthcare.

Vicenistatin, a novel 20-membered macrocyclic lactam antitumor antibiotic.
A new antitumor antibiotic vicenistatin was isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. HC34. The structure of vicenistatin was elucidated by NMR spectral analysis. Vicenistatin exhibited antitumor activity against human colon carcinoma Co-3 in the xenograft model.

Impact statement: We tested a gel containing a pure, stable form of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) against P. aeruginosa. To ensure our results reflect the true effects of HOCl we used a host‐relevant biofilm model. The HOCl gel disrupted bacterial metabolism, impacted proteins associated with virulence, and changed the abundance antibiotic resistance ...

Novel amido‐enaminone threads efficiently template the formation of hydrogen‐bonded [2]rotaxanes and enable diverse postsynthetic modifications. Benzyl groups promote diastereoselective cyclizations to interlocked lactams while the enaminone motif allows stopper exchange while preserving the mechanical bond.

Mixed Sugar—Nylon 14‐, 28‐ and 42‐Membered Ring Macrocyclic Lactams.
Abstract Hydrogenation of linear ω-azido-pentafluorophenyl esters from mixed oligomers of 6-amino-6-deoxy- d -galactonic acid (or 6-amino-6-deoxy- d -mannonic acid) and 6-aminohexanoic acid gives cyclic peptides containing 14-, 28- and 42-membered ring lactams.
