Effects of food restriction on the length of lactational diestrus in rats
Hormones and Behavior, 1991The effect of food restriction (60% of an ad lib ration) for the first 14 days postpartum on serum progesterone levels and the duration of lactational diestrus was determined in rat dams nursing litters of eight pups. Food restricted dams showed a longer period of lactational diestrus than ad lib fed dams.
