Orchid viruses: A new rhabdovirus in Laelia red leafspots

A bacilliform virus of the rhabdovirus group was found in ultrathin sections of leaf tissue obtained from Laelia orchids. The virus was named Laelia red leafspot virus (LRLSV) (+/+:+/+:U/E:S/+). It showed a bullet-shaped nucleocapsid, 50 × 190 to 220 nm in size, an axial filament, and a single-layered envelope.
