Time Lag in Nucleation

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1971
We obtain exact expressions for the (Daynes) time lags L for the Becker–Döring and the Zeldovich modified Becker–Döring theory of nucleation. Our exact mathematical expressions for L are obtained without solving for the transient concentration of embryos of the new phase. L depends on the initial distribution of embryos.

Time lags in ecological systems

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1975
Abstract A model representing ten species in a four trophic level community is constructed by using Volterra's equations including time lags, and is solved numerically for some values of the parameters. Classical discrete and continuous time lags yield similar results; simulating with discrete time lags thus appears useful. Parasitic versus predatory

Pharmacokinetic lag time estimation

International Journal of Bio-Medical Computing, 1985
This note draws attention to a problem encountered when using the pharmacokinetic computer program CSTRIP for lag time estimation. The problem arises because data belonging to the lag phase is used for polyexponential parameter estimation. Simulated data are used to illustrate the effect on the fitted curve.

Time-Lag in Magnetization

Physical Review, 1928
An investigation has been made of the time-lag in magnetization in a permalloy wire to determine whether lag can be satisfactorily accounted for as due to eddy-currents alone or whether permalloy shows a marked magnetic viscosity such as has been observed by Ewing in iron wires. Eddy-current lag has been calculated approximately in a manner which takes

Deflection Lag, Load Lag, and Time Lag of Buried Flexible Pipe

Journal of ASTM International, 2011
Abstract The Iowa formula was published by Professor M. G. Spangler of Iowa State Univ. in 1941 to predict the deflection of buried flexible pipe. In the equation, he used the term “deflection lag” to describe the increase in flexible pipe defection after the maximum load was reached over the pipe.

Time Lag in the Self-Nucleation

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1954
An approximate but simple and general treatment of the time lag in self-nucleation is given. In this method the relation to be satisfied approximately by the rate of nucleation in non-steady state is obtained and solved without first seeking the distribution of embryos.

How to determine the size of folding nuclei of protofibrils from the concentration dependence of the rate and lag-time of aggregation. II. Experimental application for insulin and LysPro insulin: aggregation morphology, kinetics, and sizes of nuclei.

Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014
Insulin is a commonly used protein for studies of amyloidogenesis. There are a few insulin analogues with different pharmacokinetic characteristics, in particular the onset and duration of action. One of them is LysPro insulin.

How to determine the size of folding nuclei of protofibrils from the concentration dependence of the rate and lag-time of aggregation. I. Modeling the amyloid protofibril formation.

Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2014
The question about the size of nuclei of formation of protofibrils (which constitute mature amyloid fibrils) formed by different proteins and peptides is yet open and debatable because of the absence of solid knowledge of underlying mechanisms of amyloid

An Optimal Growth Model with Time Lags

Econometrica, 1972
The paper discusses the allocation of output among consumption and two types of capital with different gestation periods. Along an optimal path, we show that the imputed prices of capital goods, from the time they start production, do not exceed the prices of output, which are not less than the marginal instantaneous utility of consumption.

Pseudo-random bit generator based on lag time series

, 2014
In this paper, we present a pseudo-random bit generator (PRBG) based on two lag time series of the logistic map using positive and negative values in the bifurcation parameter.
