Boreas, EarlyView.The glacierized Valle Frías in Northern Patagonia is one of the best‐studied valleys in South America and includes varved sediments from Lago Frías. We complement this lacustrine record with a high‐resolution documentation of varve counts and their composition.

The effect of caste, mass and colony identity on rescue priorities in the red imported fire ant
Ecological Entomology, EarlyView.Fire ants will rescue brood when the brood becomes trapped underground. We find that rescuers may use odor cues to locate trapped rescue targets. We demonstrate that a single reproductive larva is preferentially rescued over a single worker larva, but that caches of multiple worker larvae receive equal treatment as a single reproductive larva.
