Thermal noise lowers the accuracy of rotationally invariant harmonics of diffusion MRI data and their robustness to experimental variations [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 204-219, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose Rotational invariants (RIs) are at the root of many dMRI applications. Among others, they are presented as a sensible way of reducing the dimensionality of biophysical models. While thermal noise impact on diffusion metrics has been well studied, little is known on its effect on spherical harmonics‐based RI (RISH) features and derived ...

About the Production of the Continuous X-Ray Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yesProc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 1929
I propose, therefore, to generalize my previous assumption so as to admit secondary beams to emerge from the scattering atom in all directions. This amounts to an averaging of the matrix elements defined in my former note over all possible directions ...

COMPOSITE LAGUERRE PSEUDOSPECTRAL METHOD FOR FOKKER-PLANCK EQUATIONS

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2023
A composite generalized Laguerre pseudospectral method for the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations on the whole line is developed. Some composite generalized Laguerre interpolation approximation results are established. As an application, a composite Laguerre pseudospectral scheme is provided for the problems of the relaxation of fermion and boson gases.

Airborne ultrasonic vortex generation using flexible ferroelectrets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Cellular ferroelectrets exhibit interesting electromechanical- acoustical characteristics. Their recent appearance and remarkable properties open up new possibilities for the design and development of ultrasonic transducers.

Laguerre and Hermite Collocation Methods for Unbounded Domains

open access: yesEast Asian Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2018
The authors discuss spectral collocation methods based on Jacobi-Gauss-Lobatto points and Laguerre and Hermite collocation for unbounded domains. These spectral collocation methods approximate derivatives by direct differentiation of Lagrange interpolation polynomials at Gauss-type points. The authors provide a new collocation scheme, where simulations

Stability analysis of MHD stagnation flow over a permeable heated rotating disk with heat generation/absorption

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics
The stagnation point flow of an incompressible viscous electrically conducting fluid impacting orthogonally on a heated rotating disk is studied with internal volumetric heat generation/absorption in the presence of a uniform magnetic field.

On the Laguerre Method for Separating the Roots of Algebraic Equations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1957
where f--f(x), f(x) = 0 is an algebraic equation of degree N with real roots and x an arbitrary real number, separate the roots of the equation. This proposition was also discussed by Ch. Hermite [2 ] and by E. Bodewig [N]. According to the proposition there will be at least one root of the equation between u and v. A generalization of the relation (1),

The guaranteed convergence of Laguerre-like method

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 2003
The authors continue their study of a Laguerre-like method for the simultaneous computation of all zeros of polynomial. The method, recently presented by the first author [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 152, No. 1--2, 451--465 (2003; Zbl 1022.65053)], is recalled together with estimates and inequalities necessary for the convergence analysis.
