Thermodynamics of pairing in mesoscopic systems
Using numerical and analytical methods implemented for different models we conduct a systematic study of thermodynamic properties of pairing correlation in mesoscopic nuclear systems.

Ferroportin 1 is an iron exporter belonging to the Major Facilitator Superfamily. Its unusual intracellular gate is formed by asymmetric networks of non‐covalent bonds. We analyzed these networks using Molecular Dynamics simulations and experimental tests and identified novel amino acids as key players in inter‐lobe connections.

laguerre spectral method with different basis functions
Abstract. In this paper a model has been solved using Laguerre spectral method with two different basis functions. Unlike classical method, all the boundary conditions will be satisfied using linear combination of Laguerre functions as basis functions. Numerical results show that using a new basis has less error and also leads to three diagonal matrix ...

Stimulated Raman Scattering with Optical Vortex Beams
This study presents exact analytical expressions for stimulated Raman scattering with Laguerre‐Gaussian beams, revealing signal dependence on topological and hyperbolic momentum. The results provide a theoretical foundation for coherent Raman imaging and detecting orbital angular momentum of light via structured light in nonlinear optics.

APL And The Numerical Solution Of High-Order Linear Differential Equations [PDF]
An Nth‐order linear ordinary differential equation is rewritten as a first‐order equation in an N×N matrix. Taking advantage of the matrix manipulation strength of the APL language this equation is then solved directly, yielding a great simplification ...

Laguerre-like inclusion method for polynomial zeros
A new method of the fourth order for the simultaneous inclusion of simple polynomial zeros is proposed. The presented method is based on the fixed point relation of Laguerre's type and realized in circular complex interval arithmetic. The established initial conditions guarantee the convergence of the considered method and the fourth order of ...

Pricing VXX Options With Observable Volatility Dynamics From High‐Frequency VIX Index
ABSTRACT This paper develops a discrete‐time joint analytical framework for pricing volatility index (VIX) and VXX options consistently. We show that our framework is more flexible than continuous‐time VXX models as it allows the information contained in the high‐frequency VIX index to be incorporated for the joint pricing of VIX and VXX options, and ...

Tutorial for Modeling Delays in Biological Systems in the NONMEM Software
ABSTRACT Delays in biological systems are a common phenomenon. The models for delays require specialized mathematical and numerical techniques such as transit compartments, delay differential equations (DDEs), and distributed DDEs (DDDEs). Because of mathematical complexity, DDEs and particularly DDDEs are infrequently used for modeling.

Some interval iterations for finding a zero of a polynomial with error bounds [PDF]
A family of interval iterative methods for finding a complex zero of a polynomial, based on the result given by Wang and Zheng, is considered. In special cases, the Newton-like and Halley-like algorithms for the determination of simple or multiple zero ...
