Analysis of mangrove forest succession, using sediment cores: A case study in the cananéia -iguape coastal system, São Paulo-Brazil [PDF]
Sediment cores are an essential tool for the analysis of the dynamics of mangrove succession. Coring was used to correlate changes in depositional environments and lateral sedimentary facies with discrete stages of forest succession at the Cananeia ...

Diversidade Estrutural de Bosques de Mangue e sua Relação com Distúrbios de Origem Antrópica: O Caso da Baía de Guanabara (Rio de Janeiro) [PDF]
Structural and functional characteristics of mangrove forests are primarily governedby the interaction of environmental characteristics, that act in global, regional or local 102Anuário do Instituto de Geociências - UFRJ Volume 26 / 2003scales.

Inferring community assembly processes from mangrove species–area relationships
The increasing species–area relationship (SAR) is a nearly universal ecological law. But recent theory has predicted that in systems with low large‐scale diversity the law should be violated and the SAR should be nearly flat at intermediate scales, with species richness roughly constant at some value typically greater than one.

Pest categorisation of Coccus viridis
Abstract The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Coccus viridis (Hemiptera: Coccidae), the green coffee scale, for the territory of the European Union (EU), following the commodity risk assessment of Jasminum polyanthum from Uganda, in which C. viridis was identified as a pest of possible concern to the EU.

Abstract Mangroves play a crucial role in mitigating hurricane impacts in coastal ecosystems, and their adaptive traits enable regeneration and forest recovery following these disturbances. Yet, how species‐specific regeneration varies across life stages and interacts with environmental conditions is poorly understood.
