Resilience to Hurricanes Is High in Mangrove Blue Carbon Forests
Mangrove forests are an important part of global carbon cycling and are also subject to disturbances from large storms. While initial carbon losses are high following hurricane landfalls, in this work we show that these forests recover to their baseline conditions within 4 years.

Plant dispersal across the tropical Atlantic by wind and sea currents [PDF]
This review brings together evidence on the monophyly and ages of angiosperm lineages ranging across the tropical Atlantic with data on the direction, strength, and speed of sea currents and wind jets across that ocean. Mainly for pragmatic reasons (data

Mangroves represent an environment of great heterogeneity and low diversity of plant species that have structural and physiological adaptations linked to a high salinity environment. Laguncularia racemosa is a typical tree species in mangroves and transitional zones. This study aimed to compare the wood anatomy of L.

Tracking rates of ecotone migration due to salt-water encroachment using fossil mollusks in coastal South Florida [PDF]
We determined the rate of migration of coastal vegetation zones in response to salt-water encroachment through paleoecological analysis of mollusks in 36 sediment cores taken along transects perpendicular to the coast in a 5.5 km2 band of coastal ...
