Measurement of radiant interception of crop canopies with the LAI-2000 plant canopy analyzer [PDF]

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Plant and Soil, 1998
The performance of the plant canopy analyzer (PCA), model LAI-2000 (LI-COR, Lincoln, NE, USA), has been tested in two separate field trials for 18 annual crop and pasture species.

Response of LAI-2000 estimates to changes in plant surface area index in a Scots pine stand [PDF]

open access: yesTree Physiology, 1996
We assessed the accuracy with which the LAI-2000 plant canopy analyzer measured changes in leaf area index (LAI) and plant area index (PAI) in a 25-year-old Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) stand. Stand density was 2100 stems ha(-1) and mean tree height was 8.7 m.

Spatiotemporal Variation of Leaf Area Index and Its Response to Climatic Factors in Ulanqab City

open access: yesShuitu baochi tongbao, 2022
[Objective] The dynamic change of leaf area index (LAI) and its response to climatic factors in Ulanqab City were studied in order to provide a scientific basis for rational resource allocation and ecological conservation.

Evaluation and correction of optically derived leaf area index in different temperate forests

open access: yesiForest - Biogeosciences and Forestry, 2016
In recent years optical techniques for rapid LAI measurements have been developed, but few studies have been performed to evaluate the accuracy of optical estimation of LAI in mixed deciduous-evergreen forest stands.

Comparação de três métodos para estimativa do índice de área foliar em pastos de capim-marandu sob lotação contínua Comparison of three methods for estimating leaf area index of marandu palisadegrass swards under continuous stocking

Ground cover and leaf area index relationship in a grass, legume and crucifer crop

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2012
Canopy characterization is essential for describing the interaction of a crop with its environment. The goal of this work was to determine the relationship between leaf area index (LAI) and ground cover (GC) in a grass, a legume and a crucifer crop, and ...

COMPARING OPTICALAND DIRECT METHODS FOR LEAFAREA INDEX DETERMINATION IN A MAIZE CROP

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering, 2010
Leaf area index (LAI) is a crucial variable in the modelling of many hydrological processes. Destructive sampling of LAI is extremely time-consuming, thus not suitable for monitoring temporal/spatial variations of the variable.

The Impact of Non-Photosynthetic Vegetation on LAI Estimation by NDVI in Mixed Grassland

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Leaf area index (LAI) is widely used for algorithms and modelling in the field of ecology and land surface processes. At a global scale, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) products generated by different remote sensing satellites, have ...
