Lake Qinghai, China

2008

Holocene aeolian activity and climatic change in Qinghai Lake basin, northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau

Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2015
Abstract Aeolian deposits in the Qinghai Lake basin on the northeastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau (NETP) were studied in order to reconstruct changes in aeolian activity related to climatic changes over the last 12.5 ka. We used 20 optically-stimulated luminescence and conventional radiocarbon dates to construct chronological frameworks for four ...

Anomalous Plutonium Isotopic Ratios in Sediments of Lake Qinghai from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China

Environmental Science & Technology, 2011
The vertical profiles of (239+240)Pu and (137)Cs activities and (240)Pu/(239)Pu isotopic ratios are determined for three sediment cores of Lake Qinghai from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China, and compared with those in sediments of another three lakes (Lakes Bosten, Sugan, and Shuangta), the only existing ones closest to Lop Nor area, China's nuclear ...

Lake level variations of Qinghai Lake in northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau since 3.7 ka based on OSL dating

Quaternary International, 2011
Abstract Qinghai Lake is the largest internally drained lake in China and its unique location makes it sensitive to climate changes. Late glacial climate changes associated with variation in Qinghai Lake levels have been intensively investigated for the past 40 years, with particular attention paid to lake level fluctuation histories between the last

[Ecosystem services valuation of Qinghai Lake].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2016
Qinghai Lake is the largest inland and salt water lake in China, and provides important ecosystem services to beneficiaries. Economic valuation of wetland ecosystem services from Qinghai Lake can reveal the direct contribution of lake ecosystems to beneficiaries using economic data, which can advance the incorporation of wetland protection of Qinghai ...

Evaluation of oxygen isotopes in carbonate as an indicator of lake evolution in arid areas: The modern Qinghai Lake, Qinghai–Tibet Plateau

Chemical Geology, 2009
Abstract The oxygen isotopic composition of carbonate in lakes has been used as a useful indicator in Palaeolimnological research, and has made some important contributions to our understanding of lacustrine systems. For modern lakes in arid or cold areas, however, there are few data available to test the effect of lake salinity and temperature on ...

Feature analysis of phytoplankton pigments in Qinghai Lake

OCEANS 2016 - Shanghai, 2016
The characteristics of pigments in phytoplankton in surface water, e.g., composition, spectral absorption and specific absorption, were examined based on in situ data collected during a field cruise in Qinghai Lake in August 2003. This study identified two pigments of chlorophyll (Chl), two pigments of photosynthetic carotenoids (PSC), and seven ...

The study on climatic changes and lake level fluctuations of Qinghai lake in holocene

Chinese Geographical Science, 1993
According to loess and palaeosol climatic record, field observation, analysis data and14C dating, we discuss the climatic changes and the water level fluctuations of Qinghai Lake. It is pointed out that there were four relatively warm and moist stages in Qinghai Lake basin during the Holocene. They formed in the periods from 10,300 yr.B.P.
