Achieving Large and Anisotropic Spin‐Mediated Thermal Transport in Textured Quantum Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
An advanced solvent‐cast cold pressing method is developed to synthesize highly textured quantum magnets. By aligning spin chains in Ca2CuO3 perpendicular to the pressing direction, a spin‐mediated thermal conductivity of 10 ± 1 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ is achieved, the highest reported for polycrystalline quantum materials.

Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei and stranger systems

open access: yes, 2003
Recent experiments on production of Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei have renewed interest in extracting the Lambda-Lambda interaction from the few events identified since the inception of this field forty years ago. Few-body calculations relating to this issue are reviewed, particularly with respect to the possibility that A=4 marks the onset of Lambda ...

Thermally Induced Gelling Systems Based on Patchy Polymeric Micelles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
A novel strategy to design thermally induced gelling systems with tunable material properties is reported. Polymeric mixed‐shell micelles displaying multiple thermosensitive patchy domains formed hydrogels by assembling into well‐entangled worm‐like network structures upon heating to body temperature. The patchy micelle design significantly affects the

Attribute annotation and bias evaluation in visual datasets for autonomous driving

open access: yesJournal of Big Data
This paper addresses the often overlooked issue of fairness in the autonomous driving domain, particularly in vision-based perception and prediction systems, which play a pivotal role in the overall functioning of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs).

Fuzzy Clustering with Uninorm-Based Distance Measure

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we suggest an algorithm of fuzzy clustering with a uninorm-based distance measure. The algorithm follows a general scheme of fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering, but in contrast to the existing algorithm, it implements logical distance between ...

Weak decay of Lambda_c^+ for the study of Lambda(1405) and Lambda(1670)

open access: yes, 2015
We study the Lambda_c decay process to pi^+ and the meson-baryon final state for the analysis of Lambda resonances. Considering the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix, color suppression, diquark correlation and the kinematical condition, we show that the final meson-baryon state should be in a pure I=0 combination, when the meson-baryon invariant mass is

3D Printed Ultra‐Fast Plastic Scintillators Based on Perovskite‐Photocurable Polymer Composite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The demand for radiation detection is increasing in a number of fields, including high‐energy physics, medical imaging, and homeland security. This study serves to demonstrate the potential for the fabrication of fast perovskite‐based scintillators with complex shapes via stereolithographic additive manufacturing, representing a new path toward the ...
