Synergistic structures in lyotropic lamellar gels

Soft Matter, 2020
In lyotropic lamellar gels new synergistic structures are formed if the gel fiber diameter is larger than the lamellar repeat distance.

Transitional structures in lamellar bone

Microscopy Research and Technique, 1996
Scanning electron micrographs of fractured surfaces of mineralized bone show a lamellar structure with alternating smooth and rough regions. These have been interpreted as corresponding to two distinct collagen fibril and mineral crystal orientations in a rotated plywood structure.

Lamellar Bone: Structure–Function Relations

Journal of Structural Biology, 1999
The term "bone" refers to a family of materials that have complex hierarchically organized structures. These structures are primarily adapted to the variety of mechanical functions that bone fulfills. Here we review the structure-mechanical relations of one bone structural type, lamellar bone.

Lamellar ichthyosis with laminated membrane structures

British Journal of Dermatology, 1993
Summary We review the published classifications of autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis. and report a newcase of congenital ichthyosis which presents the characteristics of ichthyosis congenita type III.In 1988 Arnold cm/.' de.scribed a new type of congenitalichthyosis (ichthyosis congenita.
