Investigation of High-Pressure Laminar Flame Speed Measurement

Volume 10: Heat Transfer and Thermal Engineering, 2023
Abstract Laminar burning speed (LBS) measurements are a significant fundamental experiment in understanding the combustion characteristics of fuels of interest. Such information is necessary for many applications such as engine design or modeling more complicated combustion phenomena.

Direct experimental determination of laminar flame speeds

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1998
The stability of premixed flames at ultralow strain rates was assessed experimentally and numerically in the stagnation flow configuration. Results indicate that there are inherent limitations in establishing weakly strained planar flames, and that the accuracy of the laminar flame speeds obtained through linear extrapolations can, thus, be compromised.
