Environmental and Ecological Monitoring with Biodegradable Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines the development and application of wireless biodegradable sensors for environmental monitoring. It explores (bio)degradable materials, their degradation mechanisms in various environments, and non‐toxic fabrication techniques. Additionally, it addresses scalable production and sustainable powering solutions, emphasizing the high ...

ETV1 Drives CD4+ T Cell‐Mediated Intestinal Inflammation in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Through Amino Acid Transporter Slc7a5

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the transcription factor ETV1 as a key driver of CD4⁺ T cell‐mediated intestinal inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). ETV1 promotes CD4⁺ T cell activation, proliferation, and Th17 differentiation by activating the amino acid transporter SLC7A5, fueling metabolic reprogramming.

Natural Laminar Flow and Laminar Flow Control

1992
The present volume discusses the development history and basic concepts of laminar flow control, laminar flow flight experiments, subsonic laminar-flow airfoils, and a design philosophy for long-range laminar flow-control commercial transports with advanced supercritical airfoils.

Laminar flow manipulators

Extreme Mechanics Letters, 2020
Abstract Metamaterials have allowed unprecedented control of physical fields by harnessing material tensors derived from coordinate-transformation of governing equations. Among them, hydrodynamic metamaterials have recently received immense interests, showing the possibility of viscous flow control.

Laminar flow hood

2017
This document describes the design, construction, and testing of a vertical laminar flow hood that will provide the needed clean environment for the University of Southern Indiana's Undergraduate Nano Ionospheric Temperature Explorer (UNITE) CubeSat spacecraft team to integrate the final flight components of their spacecraft.

Laminar Swirling Pipe Flow

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1954
Abstract The problem of the decay of a rotationally symmetric steady swirl superimposed on Poiseuille flow in a round pipe was investigated theoretically and experimentally. The object was to determine the degree to which the rate of decay of the swirl as predicted by a linearized theory agreed with measured rates of decay at flow ...
