Bending analysis of glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites/copper-clad laminates for multi-layer printed circuit boards

open access: yesHybrid Advances, 2023
Printed circuit board (PCB) is the most important part of any electronic device which is made of copper-clad laminate and glass fiber-reinforced composites.

On Composite Laminates with Extensional-Anisotropy [PDF]

open access: yes49th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference
16th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference
10t, 2008
The definite list of extensionally (membrane) anisotropic composite laminates with up to 21 plies is presented. The listings comprise of individual stacking sequences, which are characterized in terms of angle- and cross-ply sub-sequence relationships as well as the blend-ratio of\ud unbalanced angle-plies.

Effect of Void Content on the Mechanical Properties of GFRP for Ship Design

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
Defects such as voids in composite materials often degrade the mechanical properties of laminates. Even if these materials are manufactured based on the design requirements, there is a possibility of instability occurring in these composite structures ...

Failure of Composites with Short Fibers

open access: yesCommunications, 2010
Strength-based failure criteria are commonly used with the finite element method (FEM) to predict failure events in composite structures. The laminate analogy is very useful for the calculation of the strength of composite materials with short fibers ...

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Investigations of Bending Singularity Orders in a V-notched Composite Laminate Plate Based on the Ressiner-Mindlin Theory

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In this paper, the bending singularity at the apex of a V-notched composite laminate plate is investigated. The anisotropy of the laminate is modeled by the Stroh formalism.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Modelling of impact damage and permanent indentation on laminate composite plate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper deals with impact damage and permanent indentation modelling. A model enabling the formation of damages developing during a low velocity / low energy impact test on laminate composite panels has been elaborated.
