THERMAL BUCKLING OF LAMINATED COMPOSITE PLATES

Thermal buckling of laminated composite plates subjected to a temperature change is studied. The displacement equations of equilibrium are used and Galerkin's method is employed to determine the critical buckling temperature. Clamped and simply supported boundary conditions are both considered.

Analysis of Hybrid Laminated Composite Plates

Hybrid laminated composite plates are analyzed using a nine‐noded isoparametric plate finite element based on Mindlin's theory. The shear flexibility is included in the finite element modeling. Shear flexibility is of importance, especially when different materials are used in the laminate design.
