Reconstructing Coherent Functional Landscape From Multi‐Modal Multi‐Slice Spatial Transcriptomics by a Variational Spatial Gaussian Process

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
This study introduces stVGP, a variational spatial Gaussian process framework for multi‐modal, multi‐slice spatial transcriptomics. By integrating histological and genomic data through hybrid alignment and attention‐based fusion, stVGP reconstructs coherent 3D functional landscapes.

Assessing the Performance of Biopolymers as Substrates for Flexible Printed Supercapacitors Containing Liquid Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
The fossil‐based substrates of a printed supercapacitor containing liquid electrolytes can only be replaced with biopolymers if they have adequate permeabilities. This article studies three biopolymers based on their processability, printability, and barrier properties to find a more sustainable substrate option.

Environmental Drivers of Genetic Structure and Local Adaptation in a Marine Foundation Species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We used genome‐wide SNP data to investigate how environmental gradients shape genetic structure, connectivity and local adaptation in the kelp Eisenia arborea across ~2700 km of coastline and contrasting depth environments. We found strong latitudinal genetic structure, evidence for local adaptation to temperature and depth despite high connectivity ...

A Comprehensive Library of Stenosis Geometrical Models: Review and Guidelines for Hemodynamic Simulations and Stent Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
Classification of blood flow regimes: Spatial variation of endothelial shear stress (ESS) patterns across an atherosclerotic lesion. ABSTRACT Accurate geometrical representation of stenosis is essential for stent design, surgical planning, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, as even minor shape variations significantly alter hemodynamic
