Effect of Different Veneer-joint Forms and Allocations on Mechanical Properties of Bamboo-bundle Laminated Veneer Lumber

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Bamboo-bundle laminated veneer lumber (BLVL) was produced by veneer lengthening technology. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different veneer-joint forms and allocations on the mechanical properties of BLVL.

Strength modelling of Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) beams [PDF]

open access: yesConstruction and Building Materials, 2017
Abstract This paper develops a mechanical model to accurately predict the strength of Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) beams, and illustrates its applications to numerically predict the strength distribution of LVL beams manufactured from veneers rotary peeled from early to mid-rotation subtropical hardwood plantation logs.

Low‐Dimensional MOF Nanoarchitectonics: Progress in MOF‐2D Material Hybrid Architectures for Energy Conversion and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the integration of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and two‐dimensional (2D) materials through dimensional interface engineering. By addressing intrinsic limitations like poor conductivity and agglomeration, these hybrid architectures optimize interfacial charge and mass transport.

Physical and Mechanical Properties of Laminated Veneer Lumber Manufactured by Poplar Veneer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Science and Technology A, 2011
Efficient usage of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) in the construction industry requires an understanding the effects of the heat treatment process on the physical and mechanical properties of LVL. It is well known that the heat treatment is often used to improve the dimensional stability of solid wood, but it cases to decrease mechanical properties of ...

SLC2A3‐Mediated Lactate Metabolism Promotes Lung Cancer Bone Metastasis by Modulating P53 Lactylation and Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC2A3 derived lactate promotes metastasis through p53 lactylation at K120 and osteoclast differentiation. Pharmacological inhibition of SLC2A3 upregulates PD‐1 expression on CD8+ T cells via lactate induced p53 lactylation, which modulates immune evasion. ABSTRACT Bone metastasis is a devastating consequence of lung cancer.

Intracellular Aβ42 Sequestration by a Serine Protease Mitigates Neurotoxicity in a Drosophila Alzheimer's Disease Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Emerging evidence suggests that intraneuronal Aβ accumulation represents an early pathogenic event in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Using Drosophila AD model, this study shows that a nonsecreted serine protease Yip7 physically interacts with Aβ. This causes intraneuronal Aβ accumulation but surprisingly reduces the associated neurotoxicity, arguing that ...

INVESTIGATION ON LAMINATED WOOD (LB, LVL) MANUFACTURING [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 2001
Laminated beam ( LB.) and laminated veneer lumber ( LVL) manufactured from maple, hornbeam and beech wood is investigated. Three levels of press pressures at 30, 35, 40 kg/cm2, three levels of layer thicknesses of 2, 3, 4 mm and tangential and radial ...

Cortical Somatostatin Neurons Regulate Seizure Susceptibility via MINAR1/Gαs–cAMP Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study identifies MINAR1 as a novel regulator of cortical interneuron excitability and seizure susceptibility. MINAR1 is preferentially expressed in SST+ interneurons. Genetic ablation of MINAR1 leads to seizure hypersensitivity, reduced SST+ neuron excitability, and impaired Gαs–cAMP signaling, disrupting the E/I balance.

Effect of Impregnation with Diammonium Phosphate and Sodium Silicate on Some Physical and Mechanical Properties of Modified Laminated Veneer Lumber Made of Jabon Wood

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and laminated veneer board (LVB) panels from jabon wood (Neolamarckia cadamba) were impregnated with fire retardation substances, namely diammonium phosphate (DAP) and sodium silicate (SS).
