Facies analysis and depositional model of the Midcontinent Rift System in Kansas, USA
This study analysed the rift basin infill from the southernmost segment of the Midcontinent Rift System in Kansas. It identified 16 facies, and four facies associations, proposing a depositional model for the succession. Rift evolution is controlled by tectonism and climate.

The Headstone Laminite provides an example of freshwater carbonate deposition in an intrashelf basin during an episode of exposure and subsequent transgression. The Brigantian (late Dinantian) Headstone Laminite provides a record of freshwater carbonate deposition in an intrashelf basin when the surrounding Derbyshire carbonate platform was emergent ...

Abstract An unusually rich and diverse suite of virgianid brachiopods, hitherto poorly known, is systematically described here for the first time from the Ordovician–Silurian boundary interval (late Katian – Aeronian) of North Greenland. The Late Ordovician virgianids comprise typical taxa of the warm‐water Tcherskidium fauna (e.g.

The Goli d'Aget Member: Early Permian volcanoclastic and volcanic rocks within the Briançonnais Grand St-Bernard Nappe (Valais, Switzerland) [PDF]
.: The well-preserved sedimentary structures of the Goli d'Aget Member (Early Permian) allow to distinguish four successive environments of deposition: 1) An alluvial plain with important channeling and evidence of volcanic activity; 2) A shallow ...

Abstract Research in many forensic science fields commonly uses domestic pigs (Sus spp.) as proxies for human remains, due to their physiological and anatomical similarities, as well as being more readily available. Unfortunately, previous research, especially that which compares the decompositional process, has shown that pigs are not appropriate ...
