Generation of Light by Fluorine Reactions in Flash Lamps

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1964
In conventional combustion flash lamps the reaction between zirconium and oxygen is utilised for obtaining a luminous flux. The spectral distribution shows similarity to that radiated by a black body at 3900 "K. Methods of selection of reactions leading to higher temperatures and results of experiments are given.

Limiting Parameters and Generalized Characteristics of Xenon Lamps

Applied Optics, 1963
The development of any optical pumping system depends on the knowledge of the possibilities of lamps offered for use. This paper contains generalized data on the maximum load of lamp seals and tube walls (both flash and continuous light), single-flash or repeated operation, at different cooling conditions.
