Residual Water Suppression in MRS Using HLSVD With Automatic Component Selection Strategy

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 7, July 2026.
Residual water signals in magnetic resonance spectroscopy distort baselines and hinder metabolite quantification. We propose an automatic residual water removal method using HLSVD with the metric, termed as residual water to metabolite variance ratio (RWVR), to guide component selection.

An efficient algorithm based on Lanczos type of BCR to solve constrained quadratic inverse eigenvalue problems

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2019
This paper proposes the Lanczos type of biconjugate residual (BCR) algorithm for solving the quadratic inverse eigenvalue problem L 2 X Λ 2 + L 1 X Λ + L 0 X = 0 where L 2 , L 1 and L 0 should be partially bisymmetric under a prescribed submatrix ...

Spring‐Summer Temperature Balances and Recent Surface Maxima on the Southern Bering Sea Middle Shelf

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The eastern Bering Sea has recently experienced multiple years of pronounced warm temperature anomalies, facilitated by low winter sea‐ice extent. Although ice cover is well‐understood as a driver of temperature variations in this region, the ability for spring and summer forcing to modify anomalies present after ice retreat has been less ...

Non‐Gaussian Assimilation of Atmospheric and Oceanic Data in Latent Space for Paleoclimate Reconstruction

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Two of the challenges for paleoclimate data assimilation (PDA) are the extreme sparsity of proxy observations and the non‐Gaussian nature of background errors in the climate system. In this study, we develop a latent‐space variational data assimilation framework based on variational autoencoders (VAEs) and latent‐space minimization (VAE‐Var ...

Spherical Lanczos Interpolation in Planar Projection or Format Conversions of Panoramic Videos

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Panoramic videos provide users with an amazing experience with immersive and interactive viewing, and are now gaining global popularity. Since panoramic videos are spherical in nature while effectively processed in planar projection formats in ...

Contrasting Improvements in Storm‐Track Activity Over the North Atlantic and North Pacific in Global Storm‐Resolving Models: A Case Study in the Winter of 2020

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Storm‐resolving models have the potential to outperform conventional models with a horizontal resolution of 150 km in simulating global atmospheric circulation by resolving deep convection and gravity waves. Recent studies have suggested that the long‐standing “too zonal and too equatorward” storm‐track bias in climate models can be mitigated ...

Nested Lanczos: implicitly restarting a Lanczos algorithm

open access: yes, 1997
In this text, we present a generalisation of the idea of the Implicitly Restarted Arnoldi method to the nonsymmetric Lanczos algorithm, using the two-sided Gram-Schmidt process or using a full Lanczos tridiagonalisation. The Implicitly Restarted Lanczos method can be combined with an implicit filter.

Chebyshev Smoothing With Adaptive Block‐FSAI Preconditioners for the Multilevel Solution of Higher‐Order Problems With the Partition of Unity Method

open access: yesNumerical Linear Algebra with Applications, Volume 33, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we assess the performance of adaptive and nested factorized sparse approximate inverses as smoothers in multilevel V‐cycles, when smoothing is performed following the Chebyshev iteration of the fourth kind, for the efficient solution of linear systems arising from a conforming discretization of higher‐order partial differential ...

Krylov complexity in the Schrödinger field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We investigate the Krylov complexity of Schrödinger field theories, focusing on both bosonic and fermionic systems within the grand canonical ensemble which includes a chemical potential.
