Windows of opportunity in subseasonal weather regime forecasting: A statistical–dynamical approach
This study explores how the atmospheric state at initialisation creates windows of opportunity for improving week 3 forecasts of weather regime activity. Greenland blocking activity increases following Madden–Julian Oscillation phases 7, 8, and 1 and weak stratospheric polar vortex states, revealing patterns exploitable by statistical models.

Accelerated filtering on graphs using Lanczos method [PDF]
Signal-processing on graphs has developed into a very active field of research during the last decade. In particular, the number of applications using frames constructed from graphs, like wavelets on graphs, has substantially increased.

Dynamical Correlation Functions using the Density Matrix Renormalization Group
The density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method allows for very precise calculations of ground state properties in low-dimensional strongly correlated systems.

Low Temperature Lanczos Method
We present a modified finite temperature Lanczos method for the evaluation of dynamical and static quantities of strongly correlated electron systems that complements the finite temperature method (FTLM) introduced by Jaklic and Prelovsek for low temperatures. Together they allow accurate calculations at any temperature with moderate effort.

Look-Ahead Procedures for Lanczos-Type Product Methods Based on Three-Term Lanczos Recurrences [PDF]
This paper is devoted to the solution of large sparse non-Hermitian linear systems of equations by Lanczos-type product methods (LPTMs). For various LPTMs that are based on the Lanczos three-term recurrence, look-ahead versions are presented which avoids breakdowns or near-breakdowns at the cost of a small computational overhead.

GloMarGridding: A Python Toolkit for Flexible Spatial Interpolation in Climate Applications
Global surface climate datasets contain structural uncertainty that is difficult to attribute to individual processing steps. We present GloMarGridding, a Python package that isolates the spatial interpolation component using Gaussian Process Regression (or kriging) to generate spatially complete fields and uncertainty estimates. The techniques used in

Quantum Computed Green's Functions using a Cumulant Expansion of the Lanczos Method [PDF]
In this paper, we present a quantum computational method to calculate the many-body Green's function matrix in a spin orbital basis. We apply our approach to finite-sized fermionic Hubbard models and related impurity models within Dynamical Mean Field ...
