Assessment of Soil Modeling Capability for Orion Contingency Land Landing

Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2012
Twenty-one swing tests were conducted at the NASA Langley Landing and Impact Research (LandIR) Facility in 2006 to evaluate Orion boilerplate ground landings as a function of impact velocity and pitch. In this article, experimental results from two capsule swing tests and three vertical drop tests are compared with numerical results.

Computer Analysis of Land- Use Capabilities

Australian Forestry, 1978
SUMMARY The principles of collection, storage and analysis of data for the assessment of land- use capabilities are discussed. The advantages of computerised applications of these principles are outlined and a FORTRAN program, LUNAR, is used as a basis for discussion of such applications.

Landing Geometry and Spar Lift Capability

Journal of Forestry, 1977
Abstract Elements of landing geometry critical for setting external yarding distances are variation in slope and soil stability, spar length and fixed or swingboom characteristics, and dimensions required for operations performed on the landing. Spar lift mechanics modify the external yarding parameters.

Soils and land capability in Swaziland

2018
4 - Trends in the rural economy since the 18th century indicate that the convergence of farmers on choice tracts of high potential has been an almost continuous process. The history of land use and lessons learned which have a bearing upon plans for future agroforestal development are reviewed. Present day debates (e.g.
