Population Growth and Land Use Dynamics along Urban–Rural Gradient [PDF]
In this study we apply a spatial conditional logit model to determine factors influencing land cover change in three contiguous counties in West Georgia between 1992 and 2001 using point (pixel) based observations of land characteristics.

Autonomous and Continuous Atmospheric Water Harvesting Using Modified Wood
A rigid, hydroxyl‐rich wood skeleton with graded channels is used as a multifunctional host to co‐incorporate a PNipam/PAA network and LiCl, creating a high‐performance sorbent for atmospheric water harvesting. The composite achieves rapid sorption, efficient low‐temperature desorption, and stable cycling, enabling a solar‐powered device with a high ...

Mining Multitemporal In Situ Heterogeneous Monitoring Information for the Assurance of Recorded Land Cover Changes [PDF]
We present a data mining methodology to filter and validate land cover change detections obtained from multitemporal in situ surveys. As in situ data we use the measurements from the European land use and coverage area frame survey (LUCAS), which ...

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.
