Joint Deep Learning for land cover and land use classification [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing of Environment, 2019
Land cover (LC) and land use (LU) have commonly been classified separately from remotely sensed imagery, without considering the intrinsically hierarchical and nested relationships between them. In this paper, for the first time, a highly novel joint deep learning framework is proposed and demonstrated for LC and LU classification.

Improving Dryland Urban Land Cover Classification Accuracy Using a Classical Convolution Neural Network

open access: yesLand, 2023
Reliable information of land cover dynamics in dryland cities is crucial for understanding the anthropogenic impacts on fragile environments. However, reduced classification accuracy of dryland cities often occurs in global land cover data. Although many

AN ITERATIVE INFERENCE PROCEDURE APPLYING CONDITIONAL RANDOM FIELDS FOR SIMULTANEOUS CLASSIFICATION OF LAND COVER AND LAND USE [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2015
Land cover and land use exhibit strong contextual dependencies. We propose a novel approach for the simultaneous classification of land cover and land use, where semantic and spatial context is considered.

Employing Crowdsourced Geographic Information to Classify Land Cover with Spatial Clustering and Topic Model

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
Land cover classification is the most important element of land cover mapping and is a key input to many societal benefits. Traditional classification methods require a large amount of remotely sensed images, which are time consuming and labour intensive.

Hyperspectral Data for Land use/Land cover classification [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
Abstract. An attempt has been made to compare the multispectral Resourcesat-2 LISS III and Hyperion image for the selected area at sub class level classes of major land use/ land cover. On-screen interpretation of LISS III (resolution 23.5 m) was compared with Spectral Angle Mapping (SAM) classification of Hyperion (resolution 30m).
