Sulfide‐Based Electrolytes for All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review covers the structural features and synthesis strategies of sulfide‐based solid electrolytes, as well as critical challenges related to conductivity, interfacial and moisture stability, and scaling‐up for practical application in Sodium‐based All Solid‐State Batteries.

Sustainable Carbon Fibers Enable Stable Long‐Term Lithium Metal Deposition for Prospective Zero‐Excess Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents lightweight, lignin‐derived carbon fiber current collectors that enable controlled lithium deposition. Structural defects and intermediate‐sized pores stabilize pre‐nucleation quasi‐metallic lithium clusters, promoting uniform lithium plating and stripping.

Suppressing Dendrite Formation through Au‐Driven Interfacial Engineering for Solid‐State Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A thin gold nanolayer on lithium metal enables stable and uniform lithium plating in solid‐state batteries, enabling nearly 1 year and 11 months of continuous operation. The conductive coating lowers interfacial resistance, suppresses dendrite growth, and improves cycling stability, attributed to homogeneous deposition of Li+ on the gold layer ...

Global land degradation hotspots based on multiple methods and indicators

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Land degradation is a major impediment to achieving sustainable development. However, there is currently no harmonized global map of land degradation status and hotspots. This paper aims to obtain the status and hotspots map of global land degradation by

Experimenting with the design of policies on sustainable resources management : Phase 1 final report, January 2004 - February 2005 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The overall objective of the DMP is to arrest land degradation in Africa's desert margins through demonstration and capacity building activities. The GEF increment to this project will enable the programme to address issues of global environmental ...

A Quantitative Lithium Inventory Framework for Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A component‐resolved lithium inventory framework quantitatively tracks Li redistribution across the cell in anode‐free NMC622||Cu pouch cells throughout cycling. Three sequential degradation stages are identified: formation‐driven cathode Li depletion, midlife inactive Li0 accumulation, and late‐stage runaway SEI thickening. The cathode, as the sole Li

Desertification and Agrifood Systems: Restoration of Degraded Agricultural Lands in the Arab Region

open access: yesAgriculture
The FAO estimates that 1660 million hectares globally are degraded due to human activities, with over 60% of this degradation affecting agricultural lands, including croplands and pastures.
