Managing urban areas for insect pollinators: As town and cities continue to grow how can land managers help insect pollinators in urban areas? [PDF]
Insect pollinators are essential for food production and wild flower reproduction yet these important insects are declining in the UK and in other regions of the world.

A DNA barcode for land plants [PDF]
DNA barcoding involves sequencing a standard region of DNA as a tool for species identification. However, there has been no agreement on which region(s) should be used for barcoding land plants. To provide a community recommendation on a standard plant barcode, we have compared the performance of 7 leading candidate plastid DNA regions (

This study establishes a materials‐driven framework for entropy generation within standard CMOS technology. By electrically rebalancing gate‐oxide traps and Si‐channel defects in foundry‐fabricated FDSOI transistors, the work realizes in‐materia control of temporal correlation – achieving task adaptive entropy optimization for reinforcement learning ...

Impact of suboptimal land on shallot plant growth [PDF]
The impact of suboptimal land conditions on the growth of shallot plants, and what strategies can be used to reduce the negative impacts have not been widely implemented.

The evolution of land plant cilia [PDF]
SummaryEukaryotic cilia/flagella are ancient organelles with motility and sensory functions. Cilia display significant ultrastructural conservation where present across the eukaryotic phylogeny; however, diversity in ciliary biology exists and the ability to produce cilia has been lost independently on a number of occasions.

Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...
