Sialic Acid Sensing via Molecularly Imprinted Polymer on Laser‐Induced Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Sialic acid is an important biomarker for oral and overall health. Salivary levels of sialic acid are linked with oral cancer and other diseases. We develop a point‐of‐care sensor for sialic acid, based on molecularly imprinted aminophenylboronic acid electropolymerized onto laser‐induced graphene.

Testing competing explanations for the inverse productivity puzzle [PDF]

open access: yes
We use plot-level data from ICRISAT to assess competing explanations for an old empirical regularity - the inverse relationship between land productivity and farm size. The presence of farmers who simultaneously crop multiple plots with di¤erent sizes is

Techno‐Economic Analysis of Polylactic Acid from Corn Stover: Understanding Uncertainty and Variability via Artificial Intelligence Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study analyses the uncertainty and variability existing in the economic performance of polylactic acid (PLA) production, via integrating techno‐economic analysis with process models and Monte Carlo simulation enabled by artificial intelligence. The results show that the minimum selling price varies from $2,107 to $3076/t PLA.

HAZARDS OF EXPROPRIATION:TENURE INSECURITY AND INVESTMENT IN RURAL CHINA [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses household data from Northeast China to examine the link between investment and land tenure insecurity induced by China's system of village-level land reallocation.

ROS Activated NETosis of Bone Marrow CD55+ Intermediate Mature Neutrophils Through HIF1α‐PADI4 Pathway to Initiate Bone Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we find CD55+ neutrophils show activated NETosis within bone marrow, induce BMSC senescence and osteogenesis inhibition, finally leading to bone aging initiation. Mechanistically, ROS synergizes with the CD55‐driven HIF1α‐PADI4 pathway to promote NETosis.

Land Titles and Rice Production in Vietnam [PDF]

open access: yes
In most of the empirical literature on land titling, the household is regarded as unitary, and land rights are found to have ambiguous effects on land allocation, investment and productivity.

In search of patterns of land-use in Mexico City using logistic regression at the plot level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The study of big cities’ tendency to decentralisation is in the current agenda to understand the structure of Latin American cities. In general, centres and subcentres are related to specific functions.

Genome‐Wide by Lifetime Environment Interaction Studies of Brain Imaging Phenotypes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores genome‐wide by lifetime environment interactions on brain imaging phenotypes. Gene‐environment interactions explain more phenotypic variance than main effects, pinpoint regulatory variants, and reveal exposure‐specific biological pathways.
