Bio‐Based Wax Interfaces for Droplet Energy Harvesting at Fluoropolymer‐Like Output Levels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Replacing unsustainable fluorinated polymers in droplet‐based energy harvesters is usually limited by low power outputs, but carefully selected bio‐based polymers are capable of creating fluoropolymer‐like voltage outputs. Abstract Droplet impact and rebound on solid surfaces has emerged as a promising method for energy harvesting, typically ...

Parametric and Non-Parametric Estimation of Soil Conservation Impact on Productivity in the Northwestern Ethiopian Highlands [PDF]

open access: yes
The impact of fanya juu bunds on productivity in a high rainfall area in the Ethiopian highlands is analyzed based on data from a cross section household survey with multiple plot observations per household. The results from parametric and non-parametric

A Quest for the Mechanism of Ultrahigh Resolution SEM Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using Monte Carlo simulations with explicit definitions of SE1 and SE2 align with a cascade secondary electron production model, this work shows that the 3D nanostructure modulated SE2 emission enhances other than to reduce topographical contrast via a “miniature Faraday cup” effect.

Land rental markets in the process of rural structural transformation : productivity and equity impacts in China [PDF]

open access: yes
The importance of land rental for overall economic development has long been recognized in theory, yet empirical evidence on the productivity and equity impacts of such markets and the extent to which they realize their potential has been scant ...

Pirin Transcriptionally Regulates PLA2G4A To Inhibit Ferroptosis in Colorectal Cancer via Lipid Profile Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies Pirin (PIR), an iron‐binding protein, as a critical ferroptosis suppressor in colorectal cancer through lipid membrane remodeling. PIR, induced by NRF2 during ferroptotic stress, transcriptionally regulates PLA2G4A to shift cellular lipid composition away from ferroptosis‐permissive polyunsaturated phospholipids.

Ultrasonic‐Assisted Photocatalytic Conversion of Air to Nitric Acid Under Ambient Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultrasound‐assisted photocatalytic air oxidation to nitrate enhances soil nitrogen fertilizer dynamics, thereby enabling improved energy conversion efficiency and sustainable agriculture. ABSTRACT The production of nitric acid (HNO3) holds significant importance in the chemical industry, and achieving direct air‐to‐HNO3 conversion with high efficiency ...
