Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Price Formation under Small Numbers Competition: Evidence from Land Auctions in Singapore [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper examines the price formation process under small numbers competition using data from Singapore land auctions. The theory predicts that bid prices are less than the zero-profit asset value in these first-price sealed-bid auctions.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Arguments for the Growth Sale-Purchase Actions on the Land Market [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Economics, 2007
The selling of farm lands is the opposite of the agrarian reforms for livery or reconstitution and constitution of the land ownership right. The sale-purchase has the role to facilitate the concentration of the areas into bigger size farms, which creates

LAND MARKETIZATION, SECONDARY LAND MARKET, AND EFFECTS ON INDUSTRIAL LAND PRICE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Strategic Property Management, 2022
Land marketization and its effects are widely documented across developing countries. Few studies, however, have investigated the link between industrial land price determination and industrial land market reform, based on the establishment of a pilot open trading platform for the secondary market.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...
