Digital Land Suitability Assessment for Irrigated Cultivation of Some Agricultural Crops Using Machine Learning Approaches (Case Study: Qazvin-Abyek) [PDF]

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک
IntroductionResearch and development in high-potential agricultural areas are of great importance for ensuring the food needs of the population and livestock. Neglecting these regions can lead to increased food prices and food shortages, which can have a

Grip and Grasp: Lizard Claw Inspired Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Our study identifies the most effective lizard claw shape for use as an end effector in a bioinspired robotic manipulator. By examining key geometric features and combining them into comparative indices, the Crotaphytus collaris claw is found to be the best fit.

Heuristically Adaptive Diffusion‐Model Evolutionary Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Building on the mathematical equivalence between diffusion models and evolutionary algorithms, researchers demonstrate unprecedented control over evolutionary optimization through conditional diffusion. By training diffusion models to associate parameters with specific traits, they can guide evolution toward solutions exhibiting desired behaviors ...

Empirically Derived Suitability Maps to Downscale Aggregated Land Use Data [PDF]

open access: yes
Understanding mechanisms that drive present land use patterns is essential in order to derive appropriate models of land use change. When static analyses of land use drivers are performed, they rarely explicitly deal with spatial autocorrelation.

An Increasing Misalignment Between Crop Distribution and Environmental Resources Under Climate Change in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Climate change reshapes the spatial alignment between crop production and environmental resources. Using multi‐source data and a crop model, integrated climatic, water, and soil endowments for maize and wheat are quantified and compared with harvest distributions.
