Normal Modes in a Coupled Earth Model: A New Perspective on the Compliance Method

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract To understand the compliance parameters observed for atmospheric pressure waves, we develop a normal‐mode approach for a coupled Earth model that includes the atmosphere and the solid Earth. Extending the method of Press and Harkrider to a coupled Earth model, we introduce two new features.

Where Now for Migration Studies? Problems, Purpose and Potential

open access: yesTijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, Volume 117, Issue 2, Page 164-182, April 2026.
Abstract The 21st century has witnessed an explosion of academic research on migration. We now have a rich corpus of projects and publications, as well as academic posts, degree programmes, PhDs, conferences, journals, departments and other (often well‐funded) ventures dedicated to migration. In parallel, however, ultra‐nationalism, militarised borders

Full-magnetic implementation of a classical Toffoli gate

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
The Toffoli gate is the essential ingredient for reversible computing, an energy-efficient classical computational paradigm that evades the energy dissipation resulting from Landauer's principle.

Giant‐Domain Perovskite Films via Reduced‐Temperature Meniscus‐Guided Coating: Fluid‐Dynamic Control of Supersaturation

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 6, 29 March 2026.
Fluid‐dynamic control of supersaturation is unlocked to resolve the trade‐off between film continuity and crystal growth in perovskite bar‐coating. By utilizing a thermally driven circulation loop that suppresses excessive evaporation, we realize giant‐domain films at reduced temperatures.
