Removal of ammoniacal nitrogen from landfill leachate by irrigation onto vegetated treatment planes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Leachate is a contaminated liquor resulting from the disposal of solid and liquid wastes at landfill sites that must be treated before discharge. Vegetated leachate treatment planes have been used at landfill sites in the UK but have received little ...

UAV-based approach for municipal solid waste landfill monitoring and water ponding issue detection using sensor fusion

open access: yesJournal of Hydroinformatics, 2023
Municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills need regular monitoring to ensure proper operations and meet environmental protection requirements. One requirement is to monitor landfill gas emissions from the landfill cover while another requirement is to monitor

A strategy for emissions based regulation of landfill gas. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The Environment Agency (the Agency) is responsible for the regulation of landfill sites in England and Wales. Since its formation, the Agency’s regulatory strategy for landfill gas has been to require operators to demonstrate best practice.

Cyclodextrin‐Functionalized Light‐Driven Cu2O Micromotors for Simultaneous Capture and Degradation of Bisphenol A

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.

Nanoscale Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry for Quantifying Membrane Fouling: Fouling Layer Structure and Chemical Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry (Nano SIMS) is established as a powerful analytical tool to visualize and quantify the membrane fouling layers. ABSTRACT Membrane technology has garnered considerable attention for applications in wastewater treatment and resource recovery. Nevertheless, membrane fouling remains a major barrier, yet the lack of
