Apex predators exploit advantageous snow conditions across hunting modes
Advantageous snow conditions—in terms of snow depth and density—are among the most important features of the winter landscape for two apex predators, regardless of hunting strategy. In a warming climate, the knock‐on effects of a diminishing snowpack may reduce the hunting success of multiple large carnivore species.

Limitations Posed by Free DEMs in Watershed Studies: The Case of River Tanaro in Italy
Topography is a critical element in the hydrological response of a drainage basin and its availability in the form of digital elevation models (DEMs) has advanced the modeling of hydrological and hydraulic processes.

Geomorphic classification of Icelandic and Martian volcanoes: Limitations of comparative planetology research from LANDSAT and Viking orbiter images [PDF]
Some limitations in using orbital images of planetary surfaces for comparative landform analyses are discussed. The principal orbital images used were LANDSAT MSS images of Earth and nominal Viking Orbiter images of Mars.

THE AESTHETICS OF URBAN METABOLISM: Landscape, Design and the Politics of In/Visibility
Abstract In this article, we chart the evolving aesthetic contours of urban metabolism across London, focusing on the River Lea and Thamesmead to the north and south of the River Thames, respectively. We begin in the nineteenth century, when these two sites formed critical nodes within a new sewerage system that relegated the city’s circulatory flows ...

Towards a Common Framework for the Identification of Landforms on Terrain Models
A landform is a physical feature of the terrain with its own recognisable shape. Its definition is often qualitative and inherently vague. Hence, landforms are difficult to formalise in a logical model that can be implemented. We propose for that purpose

Ablation of Martian glaciers [PDF]
Glacier like landforms are observed in the fretted terrain of Mars in the latitude belts near + or - 42 deg. It was suggested that sublimation or accumulation-ablation rates could be estimated for these glaciers if their shapes were known.
