Statistical land clutter modeling for airborne radar

Proceedings of ICICS, 1997 International Conference on Information, Communications and Signal Processing. Theme: Trends in Information Systems Engineering and Wireless Multimedia Communications (Cat. No.97TH8237), 2002
This paper presents a new approach for modeling the radar land clutter, by considering broad regions of ground and all types of roughness. In this way, many kinds of terrains with and without mountains and their composite forms are taken into account. Finally a generalized probability density function is introduced for the envelope of the clutter.

The authors of this work conducted a statistical analysis of land use in the Udmurt Republic in 2011-2022. The dynamics of land areas by category is given. The study found that the largest decrease in farmland area occurred in the first half of the period under review.

Statistical analysis of high resolution land clutter

Results are described from land clutter analysis obtained from the fixed site BYSON radar at Malvern. Digital terrain elevation data is used to determine the imaged regions and the normalized log estimator, U, is measured to investigate the stability of the high resolution heavy-tailed clutter distribution.
