Abstract Evapotranspiration (ET) is a critical component of the land‐atmosphere energy and water cycle. Satellite remote sensing has proven to be highly effective for large‐scale ET estimation across heterogeneous landscapes, but producing high‐resolution, all‐weather ET remains difficult.

Abstract Coccolith assemblages from the last 158 kyr, encompassing Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 5e (130–116 kyr) and preceding deglaciation (Termination II; T‐II), offer important insights about current and future climate changes. The South China Sea (SCS) represents a perfect area for reconstructing past East Asian Monsoon (EAM) dynamics thanks to its ...

Abstract Evaporation exerts a dominant influence on groundwater‐lake interactions in arid environments, yet its coupling with redox dynamics and trace element mobilization remains poorly understood. Here, we combine stable isotope (δ2H, δ18O) and trace element concentration analyses of manganese (Mn), arsenic (As), and barium (Ba) to quantify ...

Abstract Urbanization profoundly influences urban vegetation dynamics. Variations in development stages lead to differing direct (vegetation loss) and indirect (vegetation growth) impacts across old urban areas, new urban areas, and suburban, with unclear spatiotemporal mechanisms.

This study examines the distribution and morphology of lakes under the Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) to investigate relationships with ice flow velocity, bedrock and basal thermal regime. Palaeo‐ice streams and lobes were important components of the LIS, and properties of lakes in those regions are quantified at high resolution.
