Where Most Frameworks Degrade: Flexible Bimetallic Phosphonate Crystals as pH‐Universal Supercapacitor Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plastically flexible single crystals of the bimetallic phosphonate framework [Cu(2,2′‐bpy)VO(O3PC6H5)2] combine mechanical adaptability with robust pseudocapacitive charge storage. The material delivers about 140 Fg−1 at pH 4 and pH 10 and remains stable across pH 2‐12, enabling energy storage under comparatively mild electrolyte conditions.

Inducing Ferromagnetism by Structural Engineering in a Strongly Spin‐Orbit Coupled Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Magnetic materials with strong spin‐orbit coupling (SOC) are essential for the advancement of spin‐orbitronic devices, as they enable efficient spin‐charge conversion, complex magnetic structures, spin‐valley physics, topological phases and other exotic phenomena.

Designing whole landscapes

Landscape Research, 2001
A whole-landscape approach is critical to ensuring conservation and enhancement of biodiversity in farmed landscapes. Although existing agri-environmental schemes are constrained by property boundaries and voluntary take up, the potential for adopting a whole-landscape approach to planned countryside management is currently favoured by a number of ...

Landscape : Expressive Landscapes, Perception and Design

2020
In the light of the psychological research on expressive qualities, this chapter deals with the landscape in terms of design. In particular, the phenomenological-experimental approach excludes physicalist and subjectivist prejudices in the study of immediate experience and allows the experimental investigation of tertiary-expressive qualities.

Landscape Design

2010
Landscape design and landscape architecture are in their basic forms a manifestation of humans’ passionate care for nature. The two concepts are similar, with landscape design focusing more on the artistic merits of design. This entry briefly reviews the history of landscape architecture and then considers the role that it can play in the future. In an
